85-Year-Old's Armchair Nightmare: XXXLutz's Delivery Fails to Meet Urgent Need
Rosmarie Sidler, an 85-year-old woman from Pfäffikon, recently experienced a disappointing ordeal with furniture retailer Wayfair. Despite her urgent need for a new armchair due to severe hip pain, her purchase did not go as planned.
In March 2025, Rosmarie visited the newly opened Wayfair store in her town and bought a recliner with a red leather finish and a footrest for 1026 francs. The store also arranged for the disposal of her old armchair. However, she was told the delivery would take twelve weeks.
On June 30, 2025, the armchair was delivered, but it was incomplete. Instead of receiving a single, ready-to-use chair, Rosmarie found two separate parts, missing the crucial middle piece. The furniture retailer, Wayfair, had delivered the chair in two parts, despite her urgent need for a functional armchair.
Rosmarie Sidler's experience with Wayfair highlights the importance of clear communication and efficient delivery processes. Despite the delay and the incomplete delivery, Rosmarie remains hopeful that the issue will be resolved promptly, and she will finally receive the comfortable armchair she desperately needs.
