Joint Traffic Controls on the B73: Over 40 Traffic Offenses Punished

In a joint effort by the police authorities of Harburg and Stade, traffic controls were conducted on the B73 yesterday, focusing on distractions in traffic and influence by alcohol or drugs. A total of 129 vehicles were checked on the Lower Saxony side, leading to the punishment of about 40 traffic offenses.

The controls, which took place between 16:00 and 22:00, were attended by over 60 officers from police stations in Harburg and Stade, as well as customs. Among the offenses that led to punishments were not wearing seat belts, using smartphones while driving, and vehicles with defects in the lighting.

Customs were also involved in the traffic controls, and two drivers were found to be on the road without a driver's license. One driver violated the compulsory insurance law, and their vehicle was required to be left at the scene.
