AOK Supports Local Health Self-Help Groups in Ingolstadt, Eichstätt, Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, and Pfaffenhofen
Self-help groups offer a sanctuary for individuals grappling with life-altering events, illnesses, addiction, or crises. These communities provide a platform where individuals connect and find support from one another. These groups aid in overcoming psychological, social, or health challenges, with members either seeking assistance or serving as relatives of those affected.
Ulrich Resch, AOK Director of AOK Ingolstadt, emphasizes the organization's commitment to these self-help initiatives, stating that they play an essential role in local care.
Since 2008, 13 round tables in Bavaria have been championing local and regional self-help groups. The business office of the Round Table Region 10 Ingolstadt, located at the Ingolstadt Health Department, manages self-help groups within the city of Ingolstadt and the districts of Eichstätt, Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, and Pfaffenhofen. The local representatives of statutory health insurance companies review funding applications and make decisions during separate award meetings, such as the one held on April 29 at AOK Ingolstadt. These meetings have designated representatives from self-help groups for advice.
Individuals seeking support or information on self-help groups in the region may reach out to the Health Department Self-Help Contact Point at +49 841 305-1465 or via email at [email protected].
