Bayreuth Festival Sees Three Suspected Date-Rape Drug Cases
The Bayreuth Festival has witnessed three suspected cases of date-rape drugs, with two women and one man reporting physical discomfort. Urine samples have been analyzed to confirm the presence of these substances, which are notoriously difficult to detect due to their volatility.
The Cannstatter Volksfest, also known as the Bayreuth Festival, has implemented measures to combat sexual harassment and date-rape drugs. Safe apps like SafeNow and Eve are available for attendees to increase safety and alert security personnel. The Wasenboje serves as a safe space for those who have been sexually harassed or suspect they've been given these drugs.
To protect themselves, festival-goers are advised not to leave their drinks unattended and to refuse open drinks from strangers. Despite these precautions, the number of crimes at the festival has decreased by 37 percent from 2023 to 2024.
The police are currently investigating the three suspected cases of date-rape drugs at the Bayreuth Festival. While they are not revealing the specific tents where the incidents may have occurred, they urge attendees to stay vigilant and use the available resources to ensure their safety.
