In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, a significant breakthrough is taking place. Camgenium, a leading innovator in digital health solutions, has developed HealthiumPro, a cloud-based software solution designed to address the rising challenge of prostate cancer and improve patient outcomes.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in the UK, with an expected 15% increase in incidence between 2023 and 2040, resulting in around 55,000 new cases diagnosed annually. Recognizing the unmet psychosocial, psychosexual, and informational needs of patients, especially those undergoing or recovering from surgery, HealthiumPro aims to bridge this gap.

The HealthiumPro system, when deployed, has demonstrated improvements in patient care in hospitals. Key features of this innovative software include enabling patients to remotely sign consent forms and access pre-surgery information, providing guided pre-surgical physical exercises, displaying upcoming appointment details, and allowing clinicians to remotely monitor vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature.

Moreover, HealthiumPro automates surgical note writing by correlating surgical data with patient-reported outcomes, offering customizable variables for each patient. This app represents an innovative approach to managing the projected rise in prostate cancer cases by addressing both medical and psychosocial needs through technology designed for seamless surgeon-patient interaction and continuous monitoring.

Camgenium has partnered with Professor Petre Cristian Ilie for the development of HealthiumPro. The system has been built in compliance with ISO 13485, the regulatory standard for medical devices, and boasts prebuilt regulatory compliant modules. The HealthiumPro platform provides a simple way for healthcare professionals to track stent insertions and provides pre- and post-surgery information to patients, with reporting and analytics capabilities.

The HealthiumPro Stent Register aims to streamline the logging and tracking of stent insertions to ensure their timely removal or exchange, addressing challenges reported by multiple safety bodies in enhancing patient safety and improving the management of ureteric stents.

Camgenium's collaboration with Dr. Ilie aims to further develop the HealthiumPro system in the future. The HealthiumPro system is ready for nationwide implementation in other healthcare settings, built on the flexible Xenplate platform, which uses a modular, no-code software with built-in design tools. This design method minimizes the need for bespoke coding, allowing for a more efficient and adaptable system.

The HealthiumPro system has recently received regulatory approval to host the platform on the NHS private network, HSCN, paving the way for its integration into the UK's healthcare infrastructure. This advancement signifies a promising future for prostate cancer patients, offering enhanced safety before and after surgery, and improved efficiency in hospital settings.
