Cincinnati Children's Expands Pediatric Care in Northern Kentucky
Cincinnati Children's has announced the opening of a new Urgent Care facility in Crestview Hills, Northern Kentucky, on July 1. The expanded location will offer urgent care services, as well as specialty services such as Sports Medicine and Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) care[1][2].
The renovated facility, now known as Cincinnati Children's Crestview Hills, has been expanded to more than 40,000 square feet, doubling its original footprint[6]. This expansion has led to the creation of approximately 30 new jobs.
The Urgent Care will be open to walk-ins on weekdays from 6 - 11 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon-7 p.m.[7] It will provide access to expert pediatric medical providers during evenings and weekends, treating a variety of pediatric conditions such as allergies, minor injuries, fevers, flu-like symptoms, and urinary infections.
The lab at Cincinnati Children's Crestview Hills has also been expanded as part of the renovation and will collaborate with the new Urgent Care. It will analyze blood draws, urinalysis, stool samples, and swabs to detect strep, flu, COVID-19, and other conditions[3].
To accommodate the additional staff, Cincinnati Children's has doubled the size of the employee break room. A new conference room has also been added[4].
Prior to the expansion, about 60 Cincinnati Children's employees were based at Crestview Hills. With the increased staffing, that number has grown by 50%[5]. The new Urgent Care will aim to treat more than 7,500 children every year[8].
