Commission Requests Draft for Worker Radiation Safety Directive, Focusing on Ionising Radiation Risks
The Volunteer Fire Department Walldorf/Werra is gearing up for its annual fire station festival, set to take place on August 15th and 16th, 2025.
The festivities kick off on Friday afternoon with an open house day, offering visitors the chance to explore the new fire station through guided tours. The building's intricacies will be unveiled, providing a unique insight into the operations of the emergency services.
Friday evening will see a sizzling party take place, starting at 6 PM. DJ Igor will be spinning tunes to get the crowd moving, and admission to this event is free. Earlier in the day, from 5 PM onwards, DJ Igor will also provide musical entertainment.
In addition to the party, fire truck rides and a bouncy castle will be available for fun on Friday, ensuring there's something for everyone.
On Saturday, the day begins with coffee and cake being served during the inauguration ceremony. At 3 PM, the new fire station will be officially inaugurated in a formal ceremony.
Throughout the day, information booths will be stationed around the festival, offering insights into the voluntary work of the emergency services.
To add a touch of festivity, the Metzelsers' brass band will accompany the coffee and cake service on Saturday, and will also provide musical entertainment at other points during the day.

Visitors can also enjoy educational workshops on health-and-wellness and fitness-and-exercise, led by local science experts, on both days of the festival.
In collaboration with these workshops, the Volunteer Fire Department Walldorf/Werra will host a 'Healthy Firefighter Challenge', a competition designed to encourage and promote active living and firefighter health across all emergency services.
