Court Visit by Landrat Highlights Farm Workers as Unspoken Pillars of Agriculture - Farmers' Association, Evangelical Village, Farm Aid Service, and Machine Ring in Attendance
In the district of Fürth, a change in structure has led to a decrease in full-time staff at the Evangelical Village and Farm Aid Service Hesselberg, leaving agricultural businesses in a challenging position. For many years, these specialists were the primary source of support in times of need for these businesses.
The lack of immediate help has been a recurring issue, with some agricultural businesses having to wait for support, or, in the worst-case scenario, receiving no help at all.
However, efforts are being made to address this issue. The Landesarbeitsamt, the regional labour authority, is working to expand and stabilise village and operational assistance in agriculture, forestry, and horticulture in the district of Fürth. This includes coordinating labour resources, providing advisory services, and facilitating workforce deployment to ensure continuous and reliable help in these sectors.
The further development and stabilisation of farm aid is a central task to ensure agricultural supply security in the district of Fürth. Recognising this need, the Maschinen- and Farm Aid Ring Fürth and the Evangelical Village and Farm Aid Service in Bavaria Hesselberg are actively seeking reinforcements for farm aid.
They are looking for individuals who are experienced in agriculture, professionally trained in household management, or career changers and reentrants. These reinforcements will help to address the current supply situation, which remains challenging due to demand often exceeding the available part-time staff.
The model of contracting self-employed farm helpers via the Social Insurance for Agriculture, Forestry, and Horticulture (SVLFG) was first implemented in Bavaria in 2016 and has since been adopted throughout the state. Currently, there are two employers of agricultural farm aid staff in the region of Fürth: the Maschinen- and Farm Aid Ring Fürth and the Evangelical Village and Farm Aid Service Hesselberg.
If you are interested in supporting the agricultural sector in the district of Fürth, you can contact the Maschinen- und Farm Aid Ring Fürth via Franziska Wollandt at [email protected], or by telephone at 09127 / 95 48 660. Alternatively, you can contact the Evangelical Village and Farm Aid in Bavaria (Hesselberg) via Herr Hans-Georg Müller at [email protected], or by telephone at 09854 / 100.
By joining these organisations, you can play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and security of agricultural supply in the district of Fürth.
