Cutting-edge Projector Simplifies Patient Visual Aids
A novel interactive projector, named Pixie, has found its place at Station 1A of the Department for Neurotraumatological Early Rehabilitation at Clemens Hospital. This advanced device, disguised as a stylish standing lamp, projects immersive content onto tables or walls, adjusting the projection according to hand movements tracked by cameras.
Sabrina Schulz from the fundraising department of Clemens Hospital affirms that this technological innovation aids in the therapy of patients with severe brain injuries. Beyond the animated dog, the device offers a variety of programs that can be employed singularly or in tandem with a partner.
Burkhard Hillers, team leader of public customers at Sparkasse Münsterland Ost, accentuates the value this interactive table offers in supporting the recovery of patients in this department.
Further funding for the purchase of the €11,000 device came from Christian Köskemeier, a former patient of the neurotraumatological early rehabilitation department in 1997. On the occasion of his retirement, he requested donations for a worthy cause, expressing his satisfaction that the proceeds would now benefit those in similar situations.
Sabrina Schulz underscores the diversity of donor engagement, expressing that without the considerable donation from Sparkasse Münsterland Ost, the acquisition of the interactive projector would not have been possible. She equally admires Köskemeier's appeal for donations, which garnered widespread support.
