In the small town of Veitsteinbach, Germany, the local community is mourning the loss of a beloved figure, Father Michael Möller, who passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 60.

Born on December 6, 1964, in Fulda, Father Möller spent his childhood and youth in Veitsteinbach. He later completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk before entering the Fulda seminary in 1990. He was ordained a deacon on June 17, 1995, and a priest on June 30, 1996.

From 1996 to 1998, Father Möller served as a chaplain at St. Bonifatius in Kassel. His warm, open, and friendly nature quickly endeared him to the congregation. In August 1998, he moved to the parishes of Christ King Edelzell-Engelhelms and Holy Trinity Pilgerzell, where he continued to make a significant impact.

In Pilgerzell, he became president of the KAB in 1999. His dedication and leadership were evident, and he continued to serve with distinction until 2002. During this time, he also assumed the responsibility of deputy dean, first in the deanery of Margretenhaun, later in the newly founded deanery of Rhoen, and held this position until 2013.

From August 2002, Father Möller was the parish priest of St. Margareta in Margretenhaun. In August 2009, he moved to the heart of the Rhoen, becoming the parish priest of St. Bartholomew's in Hilders and the administrator of St. John the Baptist in Batten.

Throughout his 30-year career as a priest, Father Möller maintained a deep, Marian and Eucharistic piety, which was evident in his ministry. He cultivated his passion for theater as a priest by staging and performing the widely known Hilders Passion Plays.

On August 18, 2025, a Rosary for Father Möller will be held at St. Bartholomew's Church in Hilders. This will be followed by a Requiem Mass at the same location at 2 PM. A second funeral Mass will be held on August 19, 2025, at 2 PM in St. Vitus Church in Veitsteinbach.

Father Michael Möller will be deeply missed by his community, but his legacy of warmth, openness, and dedication to his faith will live on. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him and those who come after.

In his youth, Father Michael Möller's passion extended beyond spiritual matters, as he also nurtured a keen interest in theater.

Remembering Father Möller, the community acknowledges his significant contributions to health-and-wellness and science, evident in his leadership role as president of the KAB (Kirchlicher Arbeitskreis Bildung) in Pilgerzell.
