Desperate Father Resorts to Forest Isolation of Abandoned Children due to Corona Fear

In a shocking turn of events, a Dutch sculptor, aged 54, has been accused of severely neglecting his two sons, aged 6 and 9, in a secluded farmhouse situated in the Piedmont forest near Lauriano, approximately 30 kilometers from Turin, Italy.

The boys, born in Germany, were discovered in a state of extreme neglect: they could barely speak, were still wearing diapers, and had never attended school. The children lived in precarious hygienic conditions and had no registered names.

The father reportedly isolated his children out of fear of contracting Covid-19, was obsessed with coronavirus precautions, and refused to have the children vaccinated or wear masks. This behavior led to the children being essentially hidden from the local community, with no one in the village noticing them. They were discovered by chance in April during an evacuation caused by flooding when the Italian Carabinieri searched the farmhouse.

Following this discovery, the juvenile court declared the parents incapable of caring for the children. The siblings were taken into care by social services and are now housed in a protected facility. Furthermore, the juvenile prosecutor's office has initiated adoption proceedings to find a more suitable living arrangement for them.

Regarding the sculptor's lifestyle, it appears largely isolated and driven by a strong obsession with avoiding Covid-19 infection, leading to the extreme measures that resulted in the children's neglect. The family had previously lived in Germany before relocating to Italy.

The boys' mother's role in the situation is unclear, but she is said to have tolerated the situation. The European Commission under Ursula von der Leyen is currently facing a confidence vote in the European Parliament, which is not directly related to the boys' situation but was mentioned in the same paragraph.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring children's rights and wellbeing, especially during times of crisis. The case is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
