Inquiry Regarding Personal Circumstances - Diagnosed with breast cancer, broadcast host Charlotte Potts queries her predicament
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Charlotte Potts, the current chief political correspondent for ProSiebenSat.1 in Berlin, revealed her breast cancer diagnosis that she received following a routine check-up in May 2025.
Initially, Potts had hoped that her symptoms could be treated with antibiotics, but the diagnosis confirmed her worst fears. The shock of the diagnosis was somewhat mitigated by her doctor explaining that one in seven women gets breast cancer.
Before her role at ProSiebenSat.1, Potts was a presenter of the "ZDF-Morgenmagazin" from 2017 to 2022. Prior to her stint at ZDF, she was a political correspondent for Deutsche Welle in Berlin and later in London.
Potts has been receiving weekly treatments with Carboplatin for the past two weeks in an attempt to recover from breast cancer. She has expressed a desire to share her experiences with breast cancer, believing that sharing makes things easier.
In her Instagram story, Potts has thanked her family and friends for their support during her treatment. Over 300 people have left supportive comments on her posts about her breast cancer diagnosis.
Unfortunately, Potts has had to put her job on hold due to her breast cancer treatment. As of late August 2025, there are no additional specific public updates on treatment or prognosis available.
Potts studied journalism and politics in Washington, D.C., and previously studied history, psychology, and economics in Freiburg. Her career in journalism and politics has been marked by her dedication and resilience, qualities that she continues to demonstrate in the face of her breast cancer diagnosis.
