Top High-Fiber Foods

After the recording, we posed a question to Lisa for our readers: What are her favorite high-fiber foods?

"Frozen berries are top of my list, as they're richer in fiber compared to fresh berries. They're also affordable and convenient since they don't spoil quickly. You can add them to smoothies, oatmeal, or yogurt," she shared.

Lisa's second choice was whole wheat pasta, revealing an interesting fact about fiber. "Brown rice only has one gram more fiber than white rice, but whole wheat pasta has significantly more than white pasta. It's an excellent fiber-rich foundation for your dinner, great for adding vegetables or protein," she said.

Lastly, Lisa championed chia seeds. "I sprinkle them on oatmeal, or you can make a chia seed pudding by soaking them with milk or non-dairy milk, adding fruits. They're filling, high in fiber, and contain omega-3, making a mighty nutritional punch."
