Tests have revealed that this product contains excessive nitrate levels, failing to meet the requirements of the Customs Union technical regulations. The acceptable nitrate level is no more than 400 mg/kg, but the "Uncle Vanya" zucchini caviar had 716 mg/kg, exceeding it by 1.8 times.

The ban on "Uncle Vanya" zucchini caviar will take effect on July 1, but it's important to note that this does not affect other products of this brand in online deliveries. Similarly, the contaminated spices are not specified to be offered in online deliveries of major retail chains.

Contamination in spices can lead to foodborne illnesses caused by pathogens like Salmonella or Clostridium. Mold in spices can produce mycotoxins, which are harmful and potentially carcinogenic.
