The 20th Annual Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Conference, along with the inaugural International Congress on Eustachian Canal Research and Intervention, commenced today at the InterContinental Hotel in Dubai. Organized by Info Plus, the conference promises presentations, workshops, and networking sessions over the course of several days.

The event, which brings together 1,000 experts from 33 countries, is a significant gathering for the otolaryngology (ENT) community. It provides a platform for specialists to engage, exchange insights, and collaborate on advanced research, education, and clinical practice in ENT and head and neck surgery, with a particular focus on the Eustachian tube—a critical area in ENT disorders.

Dr. Latifa Al-Makouchi, President of the conference and Assistant Professor at King Saud University, opened the event, emphasizing the importance of active engagement, insight exchange, and collaboration. Dr. Moaz Tarabichi, co-chair of the conference and head of the organizing committee, described the event as a vital opportunity to explore the latest in ENT innovations and challenges.

An exhibition featuring 25 leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies was inaugurated, offering attendees the chance to learn about the latest advancements in the field. Hands-on workshops like "Balance Man" are part of the conference, providing practitioners with practical, hands-on learning opportunities.

Distinguished physicians were honoured for their contributions to healthcare during the event, recognizing their significant work in the field. Over 150 renowned speakers from 30 countries are participating in the conference, covering a range of topics including paediatric ENT, rhinoplasty, cochlear implants, and balance disorders.

30 top research papers by young otolaryngologists from 15 nations were selected for the conference, showcasing the promising future of ENT research. The merging of these two important events underscores an emphasis on advancing ENT science with particular attention to the Eustachian canal, representing a key gateway to improving treatments for conditions such as otitis media and Eustachian tube dysfunction.
