Cross-Provider Training Program for Health Care Educators Launches in Hamm

A new cross-provider training program for health care educators is set to begin in Hamm, Germany. This initiative, a collaboration between Movere movement kindergarten, vkm, the youth welfare facility Outlaw, the Paritätischer, and the LWL school in Hamm, aims to make a significant impact in the social sector and attract more individuals to work in the field.

The program is open to long-term unemployed individuals and those seeking retraining. Dorothee Schackmann, Managing Director of the Paritätischer in Hamm, expressed her hope that this pilot project will not be a one-time event but will be expanded and replicated in the future.

Five women have been selected for the first run of the training program, including Laura Brokmann, a new trainee. Laura, who has been caring for her grandparents in intensive care for the last few years, is starting the training program with the goal of finding her dream job in the health care sector.

The trainees will complete their training in each of the three facilities for a year each. The theoretical part of the training will be handled by the LWL school in Hamm. The HSHL is accompanying the health care educator pilot project and will regularly assess satisfaction and areas for improvement.

The training program focuses on current medical guidelines and practices, interdisciplinary collaboration skills, use of digital health tools and telemedicine, and more. Future plans often focus on expanding digital access, incorporating artificial intelligence, and fostering integrated care pathways.
