Expanding its consulting services and seeking financial support, Donum vitae takes action.
In the heart of Bergisch Gladbach, the counseling center Donum Vitae continues to provide essential support to women and families, with over 1,000 counseling sessions conducted annually since 2022. Approximately 35% of these sessions are first-time consultations related to pregnancy conflicts.
This vital work is made possible through the generosity of public funds, the state of NRW, the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, and donations. Recognising the importance of this service, Donum Vitae has announced a fundraising campaign from September 12 to December 12, 2025.
The Bethe Foundation, a long-time supporter, will be doubling all donations up to a total of 5,000 euros for this campaign. The Bethe Foundation, established in 1996, has a foundation capital of over 10 million euros and has distributed approximately 30 million euros to date. Its efforts extend beyond this campaign, supporting study stays at Nazi extermination sites, children's hospices, facilities protecting women and children from violence and abuse, Jewish history engagement, refugee projects, integration, and matching public donations.
The campaign's motto, "More Woman-Power for Women and Families in Need", encapsulates the spirit of the initiative. Several events are planned as part of the campaign, including a book reading, film screening, spinning marathon, tombola, and a Glühwein event with live music.
Donum Vitae provides counseling on various topics, including pregnancy, birth, sexuality, family planning, and starting a family. The demand for these services is on the rise, and the center also offers events on sexual education at schools.
In times of difficulty, Donum Vitae has established an "Emergency Fund" to provide immediate assistance to women in challenging situations.
