Small town, big heart: Wolfratshausen Fire Protection Society supports Wishmobile
The Wolfratshausen Fire Protection Society recently showed their compassionate side by donating to the German Red Cross' (DRK) Wishmobile. Michael Vizzini, First Shooting Master, along with his deputy Dirk Mackert, was elated to present the DRK with 1650 euros.
Their journey began with a "Skewer Fish Grilling for a Cause" fundraiser a few years back on Good Friday. Delicious skewers could be pre-ordered and picked up with a pretzel, coffee, and cake to make the wait more enjoyable or prolong the friendly gathering. Inspired by the success of their previous efforts, the group decided this year to support the Wishmobile project of the DRK, as Vizzini shared.
A Wish for a Lasting Memory
The Wishmobile enables terminally ill patients to visit a place of significance before their time comes. Whether that's a breath-taking mountain, a favorite stadium, or watching the sunset near a tranquil lake, the Wishmobile caters to each patient's individual wishes.
The vehicle boasts essential medical equipment to ensure the well-being of the patients during these precious moments. Deputy project coordinator Wolfgang Zettl highlighted that these trips are provided free of charge, emphasizing the importance of donations to keep the vehicle operating.
