Former worker accused of exploiting 10 minors

A former employee of Austrian football club WAC, champions of the Kärntner Cup, is under investigation for sexually abusing at least ten children.

According to the public prosecutor's office in Klagenfurt, the suspect, who has partially confessed, is accused of sexual abuse, endangering minors under 16, and producing child abuse images. The club stated that the man was never part of their youth trainer team.

Reports by the Kleine Zeitung suggest at least ten victims, with investigators finding evidence during a house search following a complaint. It remains unclear if any of the children were linked to the football club. Jürgen Schratter, WAC's president, emphasized that the suspect was dismissed in March for "other irregularities" involving "stolen items."

WAC's youth coordinator has not been informed about the allegations. The club asserts that if they had been aware of the incidents, they would have taken immediate action.

Enrichment data indicates the suspect may have targeted up to 20 children through photos and personal interactions. However, there's no clear evidence that these children were directly connected to the football club itself. The investigation is ongoing.
