Google selects Daiser for its AI accelerator program

The digital health company Daiser, co-founded by UK Professor Mike Trenell and US tech innovator Adam Wootton, has been chosen to participate in Google's prestigious Growth Academy: AI for Health startup accelerator programme.

Professor Trenell, the co-founder of Daiser, described the selection as a "moment of lift-off," recognising the transformational potential of the company. Noam Feinstein, Senior Startup Partner Manager and Campus Lead at Google for Startups, expressed excitement about welcoming Daiser to the programme.

The Google Growth Academy: AI for Health is a three-month hybrid programme targeting EMEA-based Seed to Series A startups using AI to develop solutions supporting governments across various sectors, including healthcare. The programme includes workshops, mentoring, and networking opportunities to help startups scale internationally and innovate responsibly with AI. Startups must have demonstrated traction and a scalable product.

While specific details about Daiser's participation in the programme are not yet available, the programme's focus on AI solutions relevant to public health aligns with Daiser's profile if it targets health AI solutions in EMEA.

Daiser's AI-native platform takes a people-first approach, enabling personalised, scalable solutions for healthcare providers and researchers. The company is partnering with respected UK institutions such as the South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub (SYDHH) and the EPSRC's EdgeAI Hub.

The three-month hybrid programme will take place in Poland, and Daiser is one of 25 startups, including three from the UK, selected for the programme. The platform uses a flexible 'Lego brick' system, allowing healthcare providers to build exactly what users need affordably and at scale.

Ongoing technical support from Google's expert teams will be available to participants during and after the programme. Mike Trenell stated that the programme is a "launchpad for Daiser to help redefine healthcare in the age of AI."

The AI in Health Accelerator is delivered by Pioneer Group in a joint effort with Innovate UK, MRC, and AstraZeneca. Participants will receive virtual and in-person sessions focused on AI best practices, product design, leadership, responsible innovation, and customer growth.

The future of the UK's MedTech landscape may be influenced by the results of the recent general election. £10m funding has been allocated for AI-powered robotic labs to accelerate deadly infection treatment. With Daiser's selection for the Google Growth Academy: AI for Health, the UK's digital health sector is poised for significant advancements in AI-driven healthcare solutions.
