Landshut's First-Graders Enjoy Free Organic Lunch Boxes
Landshut's first-graders received a treat this year. Around 2,500 students were given free organic lunch boxes, packed by volunteers and handed out by deputy district administrator Sebastian Hutzenthaler and mayor Werner Klanikow. The initiative aimed to promote healthy eating and regional organic products.
The organic lunch box action was a collaboration between the Bund Naturschutz and the Oko-Modellregion, led by regional manager Veronika Stanglmayr. Teacher Kirstin Weber developed teaching materials about healthy recipes and sustainable food for the event. The reusable lunch boxes contained fresh organic bread, cheese, a carrot, and apple chips, all sourced locally.
Numerous sponsors and volunteers supported the action, coming together to pack the 2,500 lunch boxes. The goal was to inspire young minds about the benefits of healthy eating and regional organic products.
