Local government event exclusively for women's participation and leadership
Lower Franconia is set to host the anniversary edition of the "Politics Needs Women" inter-municipal action day on October 18, 2025, at the Würzburg Town Hall. This event, organised by the local equality officers, aims to provide a platform for women who are socially engaged, whether professionally, voluntarily, or with a desire to become politically active.
Registration for the event, which runs from 10:00 to 16:00, can be done via www.gleichstellung-unterfranken.de/projekte/der-interkommunale-aktionstag. The day is designed to develop strategies, learn about scopes of action, and offer a space for networking.
The anniversary event promises to be a space for exchange, new impulses, and personal empowerment, as it has done for a decade. Participation in the event is free, and childcare and carpooling to Würzburg are available upon request.
A highlight of the event will be a discussion with politicians from various political fields. Despite the progress made, women in parliaments and local committees are still typically underrepresented and face repeated hostility. This event aims to address these issues and support women in local politics in their rights.
Newcomers and long-standing participants are both welcome at the event. Themed tables will be set up for participants to engage in conversation and gather new ideas. A special program has been planned for the anniversary, under the motto "Have your say. Get involved. Celebrate."
The deadline for registration is October 6, 2025. The politicians participating in the discussion on the day have not been publicly announced. For more information and to register, visit www.gleichstellung-unterfranken.de/projekte/der-interkommunale-aktionstag.
