Magadan Region Hosts Lecture on Influenza, ARVI Prevention and Vaccination

The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing in the Magadan Region recently hosted a lecture to educate teachers about preventing influenza and ARVI (Acute Respiratory Viral Infections). The event, held in the beginning of autumn, aimed to raise awareness about preventive measures and the importance of vaccination.

Julia Efremova, a main specialist-expert, led the lecture. She provided up-to-date information on the current epidemiological situation and preventive measures for both influenza and ARVI. These infections, characterized by symptoms like nasal congestion, sneezing, coughing, and sore throat, remain a serious threat, particularly in work collectives and public transport.

Vaccination was highlighted as the most effective and reliable way to protect against these diseases and their complications. However, due to constant viral mutations, influenza vaccination provides protection for only one season. Therefore, the optimal time for vaccination is the beginning of autumn (September-October) to allow for antibody development. Timely vaccination in the workplace can help reduce the risk of getting the flu and minimize the risk of complications.

The lecture emphasized the importance of vaccination for people in 'risk groups' such as children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with chronic diseases. By increasing awareness about preventive measures, the event aimed to strengthen public health and reduce the impact of influenza and ARVI in the Magadan Region.
