Multiple students and adults sustained injuries after a school bus turned over on a road in Texas.

In a tragic incident on a rural road north of Austin, Texas, a school bus carrying students from Leander Independent School District rolled over, leaving ten people injured. The accident occurred after school hours, and preliminary investigations suggest that the bus, a 2024 model with seatbelts, left the roadway while traveling on a slight curve on Nameless Road.

The bus, which primarily carries students from a local elementary school, was carrying a total of 43 people at the time of the accident. Nine of these were students, and the driver was also among the injured. One injury was life-threatening, while two were potentially life-threatening. The remaining injuries were not severe. The driver, described as a seasoned veteran, was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Leander ISD has expressed its support for the affected students and their families, and the district is working closely with local authorities to gather more information about the incident. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is conducting a preliminary investigation into the cause of the accident, but no definitive conclusion has been announced yet. Images from the scene show the bus on its side, and dashcam footage leading up to the crash has been collected for review. No further details about the cause of the accident have been disclosed at this time. The Texas DPS and local emergency teams continue to work diligently to determine the exact cause of the accident and to provide necessary assistance to those affected.
