Online Child Sex Exploitation Accusations Faced by an Individual in Edmonton

Cordell Campbell, a 32-year-old man from Edmonton, has been charged with 15 offences related to online child sexual exploitation following an international investigation involving Canadian, U.S., and European police forces.

The investigation was initiated after law enforcement agencies—the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Crime Centre, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol)—shared information about Campbell's alleged activities. These activities involve him allegedly sending sexually explicit photos and videos to minors he met online.

Specific incidents include a case in May 2023 involving a 13-year-old girl in the UK, reportedly communicated through Europol and the UK's Eastern Region Special Operations Unit. Another incident occurred in June 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri, where Campbell is alleged to have sent sexually explicit photos and videos to an 11-year-old girl he met over social media.

ALERT (Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team), which includes municipal and RCMP officers, launched an investigation in December 2024 after receiving these referrals. They concluded Campbell had been engaging in the exploitation of children online since 2023.

Campbell was arrested and charged on July 15, 2025, with three counts of luring a child, three counts of making sexually explicit material available to a child, and making child pornography, among others. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 20, 2025.

Authorities encourage anyone with additional information related to the investigation or other child exploitation activities to contact local law enforcement or Crime Stoppers.
