I've been following the new pope, Leo XIV, with great interest since his election. It's refreshing to see a pope who acknowledges the significance of a strong and free press, just like The Times appreciates.

As a devoted Catholic actively engaged in Church work, I'm eager to see where Leo XIV stands on various issues. Naturally, the role of women in the Church is a matter close to my heart. It's high time the Church benefits from women's leadership and vision to achieve more successful solutions to the world's problems.

Historically, women held crucial roles in the early Church, and it's essential to reinstate that tradition. I'm cautiously optimistic that Leo XIV might support this progressive change considering his background and the continuation of Pope Francis' agenda.

I eagerly await the day when the Church embraces women wholeheartedly in its leadership roles.
