Proposal for a worker radiation safety directive sought by Commission
In the early hours of August 30, 2025, a significant incident occurred in Detmold, Germany. A pipe burst was reported at the junction of Lemgoer Street and Marien Street.
The incident was noticed by officers from the Detmold police station around 02:50 AM. The water fountain that ensued from the ground at the same junction caused immediate attention.
The LippeControl Center, the central authority for the police in Lippe, Germany, is located in Detmold and can be contacted for information regarding this incident. However, the LippeControl Center has not provided any updates or additional information about the pipe burst incident as of yet.
The responsible party for the further repair of the water pipe rupture is the local water supply company or municipal utilities (Stadtwerke) in Lippe. The fire brigade and Detmold utilities managed to fix the pipe burst temporarily, but further work is scheduled for Sunday morning.
As a result of the pipe burst, Lemgoer Street in the direction of the city center will be closed at the Marien Street junction until at least 12:00 PM on August 31, 2025.
