Psychology Day in NRW's BDP Statement: Exploring the Question of Morality in Psychological Practice - "Is ethical behavior essential for psychologists?"
The German Association of Psychologists (BDP) North Rhine-Westphalia Branch is hosting a Day of Psychology event in Düsseldorf on August 30, 2025. This year's theme, "Mental Health and Resilience in a Changing World," aims to address contemporary psychological challenges and promote mental well-being.
The event, taking place at the Courtyard by Marriott in Düsseldorf Media Harbor from 9:30 to 15:30, is open to professionals, students, media representatives, and other interested parties. Registration is required in advance for planning purposes, and further information can be found by contacting Petra Jagow at [email protected].
The Day of Psychology agenda includes expert lectures, workshops, panel discussions, and a Q&A session. The keynote speaker for the event is Marcus Poenisch, a communication psychologist from the Schulz von Thun Institute. Poenisch will address the tension between professional role and private life, and the impact of the professional role on private relationships.
The BDP, founded over 75 years ago, actively advocates for high standards in professional practice and encourages its members to adhere to ethical guidelines. It represents the professional interests of self-employed, freelance, and employed/civil servant psychologists. The BDP has also defined quality criteria for the training of the profession.
As the contact and information point for politics, media, and the public, the BDP North Rhine-Westphalia Branch is committed to fostering dialogue and promoting the understanding of psychological issues. The Day of Psychology event promises to be an engaging and informative experience for all attendees.
