The 60th anniversary celebration of the Licenciado Benito Juarez García Preparatory School was a grand affair, with various academic, cultural, and sports activities taking place from August 13 to 29. During the festivities, Lilia Cedillo Ramírez, the rector of the Benemerita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), unveiled a trophy cabinet of sports trophies obtained by students.

A highlight of the event was the inauguration of a mural by Cinthya Aguilar Muñoz, titled "We Go Together as a Herd." Cinthya emphasized that her images show a solid, diverse, and united herd where all voices are included. The mural is a fitting representation of the school's community spirit.

In a surprising turn, Lilia Cedillo Ramírez also introduced her latest book, "Back on the Trail, Critters and More," a science popularization text on Microbiology and Health. The book, consisting of 56 pages and 20 chapters, recounts Lilia's experience in researching microorganisms, including lactobacilli, mycoplasmas, the human papillomavirus, and SARS-COV-2.

Ricardo Cartas Figueroa, coordinator of TVBUAP, commented on the book, highlighting its enjoyable language. Lilia herself remembered her time at the Licenciado Benito Juarez García Preparatory School as a student, sharing her first impressions, student experiences, and how her teachers influenced her career choice.

The school, with a matriculation of over 2,000 students, bears its name since its transfer to its current headquarters, which occurred on August 13, 1965. Hilda Ocaña Méndez, the current director of the Benito Juarez García Preparatory School, presided over the school during the celebrations. Lilia Cedillo Ramírez is noted for her work as a promoter of culture and as a tutor, aspects considered distinctive of an ideal professor.

While Lilia Cedillo Ramírez is known for her work in academia and potentially scientific research, there is currently no direct information available about her latest book's connection to microbiology and health. However, her research article co-authored on neuroprotective effects and cellular neuroscience indicates her engagement with biomedical topics related to health.

In addition to the book presentation, various academic, cultural, and sports activities will be held to commemorate the school's anniversary. These include panels with successful graduates, experiences of outstanding students, book presentations, folk ballet performances, and the Minerva University Band. The event also saw more than 6,000 students from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas receive a Future Scholarship. The book, "Back on the Trail, Critters and More," promises to be an engaging read, blending science with humor to communicate complex themes.
