Revamping the city's wellbeing through health-focused improvements
In a significant move towards promoting a healthier lifestyle, the Artemovskiy City District has been awarded a federal grant of 300 million rubles. This funding will contribute to the expansion of opportunities for citizens to lead healthier lives and foster a culture of health awareness in the district.
The grant was announced by Victor Fisenko, the First Deputy Minister of Health of Russia, who emphasized the importance of combined efforts from all levels of government (federal, regional, and municipal) in promoting a healthy lifestyle. Fisenko cited the Artemovskiy City District as an example of successful organization in this regard.
Vyacheslav Kvon, Head of Artemovskiy City District, participated in the discussion and shared already implemented and planned projects aimed at preserving the health of citizens and increasing their physical activity. One such project is the transformation of public spaces in the district, including the installation of 5 kilometers of pedestrian and bicycle paths in both Adult and Children's Parks.
The 40-kilometer pedestrian and bicycle route that the Artem City Administration is planning to create will pass through various points of interest, such as forest areas, natural, and historical attractions. This extensive route is expected to encourage citizens to engage in regular physical activity while enjoying the district's scenic beauty.
In addition to the development of public sports facilities and the improvement of recreational areas, the Artemovskiy City District has also been organizing health promotion events and enhancing access to medical services. These measures are designed to improve the health of its citizens and encourage a more active lifestyle.
The Artemovskiy City District's improvements along the Ozerneye Klyuchi River are part of this larger project aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging physical activity. The riverbank is being developed into a recreational zone, offering residents and visitors a picturesque setting for leisurely walks, cycling, and other outdoor activities.
With these initiatives, the Artemovskiy City District is setting a commendable example for other regions in Russia, demonstrating that a holistic approach to health and wellness can bring about positive changes in the lives of its citizens.
