Scarce Distribution of BioNTech

In the heart of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Rhein-Kreis Neuss continues to navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Here's a roundup of the latest developments:

Vaccination Updates

Starting from January 10, both Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available at all mobile vaccination offers in the district. Due to limited supplies, BioNTech vaccine will only be available at the vaccination center in Hammfeldhalle and for specific groups, such as minors and pregnant women.

Booster vaccinations are now available for all residents aged 12 and above, provided their second vaccination was three months or more ago.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on vaccine availability, types, registration procedures, and location-specific schedules, residents are advised to consult the Rhein-Kreis Neuss health department or the regional KV Nordrhein website.

Case and Variant Updates

As of January 10, the 7-day incidence rate for the Rhein-Kreis Neuss stands at 176.5, an increase from the previous day's rate of 138.3. Among the current 2,067 infected individuals, the Delta variant has been detected in 236 cases (a decrease from the previous day's 272), and the Omikron variant in 137 cases (an increase from the previous day's 109).

It's important to note that among the current infected persons in the district, 531 belong to the group under 20 years old. As a precaution, vaccinations at least four weeks after the second dose are only permitted for individuals with an expected strongly reduced immune response.

Other Updates

All positive corona tests taken in Neuss and Grevenbroich, as well as by the mobile test teams, are examined for sequencing. Currently, there are no hotspots in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss.

The number of COVID-19 related deaths remains at 418.

Community Initiatives

A one-night stay voucher for two persons at the Crown Plaza Düsseldorf-Neuss including breakfast is drawn among the donors every month. A donation appeal has been launched for the expansion of the online newspaper for the left Niederrhein to the current locations in Mönchengladbach, Neuss, and Krefeld to Moers, Geldern, and Kleve.

Residents can also subscribe to a free newsletter on societal developments, culinary arts, art, and culture in Neuss.
