Springtime arrives, signifying fresh starts: the Anonymous Alcoholics of Ekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk region extend invitations to those seeking sobriety.

In Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region, the Fellowship of Anonymous Alcoholics (AA) has established 23 local groups to assist individuals seeking to overcome alcohol addiction. The fellowship, which extends its reach to various cities including Berezovsky, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, and Nizhny Tagil, is welcoming new attendees at AA meetings.

One of the latest additions is the "Khoroshie" group, which opened in April and now hosts meetings in the Zarechny microdistrict at 23 Opaikhin Street. Sessions are held every Wednesday at 6:30 PM and Sunday at 5:30 PM.

AA members intend to spread the message of sober living, and in April, one of their meetings took place at the correctional center attached to IK-45 GUFSIN Russia in the Sverdlovsk region. Sharing personal stories of recovery from alcoholism, these meetings aim to inspire others.

Besides in-person gatherings, the Fellowship is developing online formats to cater to those unable to attend meetings in person. For example, the women's AA group "Schyastye" hosts an additional online meeting on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM (YEKB), while the AA group "Rezh" in the city of Rezh offers a new online meeting every Thursday at 8:00 PM (YEKB). In-person meetings continue in Rezh every Sunday at 5:00 PM.

Alcoholics Anonymous, or AA, is a fellowship for men and women uniting to share their experiences, strengths, and hopes with each other to help one another overcome alcohol addiction. Members do not charge dues or fees and are not affiliated with any political, religious, or organizational groups.

Every Saturday, speaker meetings are held at 19:00 at 88 Chervyakov Street in Ekaterinburg. The fellowship also regularly visits rehabilitation centers and narcological clinics in Ekaterinburg and the region to share the message of continued recovery with suffering alcoholics.

In addition, Al-Anon family groups meet, offering support for relatives and friends of alcoholics. Al-Anon hotline numbers are available, as well as a website, al-anon.org.ru, for more information.

The activities of the AA fellowship are socially oriented and intended to inform and involve as many interested individuals as possible about the fellowship's meetings and events in Ekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region. Membership in AA is open to anyone who desires to stop drinking. For online AA meetings, join at the following links:
