In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services in Chad, the UAE Aid Agency and the Government of Chad have joined forces to establish the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Hospital and a dialysis centre in N'Djamena, the capital city of Chad.

Named after Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, a prominent figure in the UAE known for her advocacy in healthcare, women's empowerment, and humanitarian causes, the project reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to supporting health development in Africa.

The hospital, spanning 9,500 square meters, will house 100 beds and feature modern medical equipment and technology for a variety of treatments. The dialysis centre, occupying 4,200 square meters, will have 80 beds and will be equipped with the latest medical technology. In addition, the facility will house 11 specialised clinics.

The hospital will serve over 1.7 million people in N'Djamena, providing advanced medical care and treatment facilities to residents of Chad. The dialysis centre will address critical needs for patients with kidney diseases, helping reduce the burden of kidney-related diseases in the region.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, and Tahir Hamid Nguilin, Chad's Minister of Finance and Budget, formalised the agreement for this project. The initiative aligns with the UAE's strategy of sustainable development and international cooperation, under the supervision of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

The project is expected to contribute to job creation in the capital, providing training and employment opportunities for local medical staff. It also symbolizes the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Chad, highlighting the UAE’s role in supporting sustainable development and humanitarian aid in Africa.

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan emphasized that the hospital project is a continuation of the UAE's humanitarian legacy, while President Sheikh Mohamed's vision to strengthen global healthcare, particularly in Africa, is evident in this initiative. The hospital and dialysis centre are part of the UAE's ongoing commitment to global healthcare development.

Chad's finance minister expressed gratitude for the hospital, noting its role in enhancing healthcare in N'Djamena. The hospital project is anticipated to promote broader economic growth in N'Djamena, further strengthening the partnership between the UAE and Chad. The agreement was signed in the presence of key UAE dignitaries including H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan.
