Unique Opportunity to Acquire Unique Aston Martin Cygnet Equipped with V8 Engine

Unveiled in 2011, the Aston Martin Cygnet sparked global curiosity with its small, sub-845kg frame and luxury internals. Alas, the world was presented with an Aston Martin-dressed Toyota IQ. Despite sharing the same 1.3-liter engine and front-wheel drive, its premium badging and additions pushed the price tag to a whopping £30,995, a £20,720 escalation from the Toyota. The 'luxury' hatchback was a sales flop, selling only 150 units in the UK and 600 across Europe within two years.

Fast forward to June 2018, an ambitious customer approached Aston Martin with a special request. They desired a one-of-a-kind Cygnet equipped with Aston Martin Vantage S internals. Dubbed "Super Cygnet," this rare automobile is now available for purchase on the Nicholas Mee website, a renowned Aston Martin specialist based in Herfordshire.

The unique

Aston Martin's engineering team and Q bespoke division embarked on a 10-month transformation journey. They maneuvered a 4.7-liter Vantage S V8 engine and seven-speed paddle-shift gearbox into the little Cygnet's frame. The engine upgrade increased power to 430bhp, bringing the power-to-weight ratio on par with high-performance cars such as the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and the 2017 Lotus Exige 360 Cup.

To accommodate the engine swap, the platform was altered to incorporate front and rear subframe assemblies from the Vantage S, along with suspension and ABS systems. The bodyshell was strengthened and reinforced, adding a roll-cage for extra rigidity. The Super Cygnet is now a formidable machine, showcasing Alcantara and carbon fiber interior, Vantage instrumentation, Recaro racing seats, and carbon composite wheel arches.

The Super Cygnet's exceptional power-to-weight ratio stems from its powerful V8 engine and lightweight materials, which enable it to perform like a small supercar, with acceleration from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 170 mph.
