Nordhausen: Witches and Heroes Take the Stage in a Refreshing Take on Fairy Tales
Starting this Sunday, 1st June, the Theaterjugendclub Junior in Nordhausen will present a captivating play, "Hexen, Helden, Happy End?", at the Jugendclubhaus in the county town. The youngest actors of the Nordhäuser Theater dive into familiar fairy tales, providing a novel perspective on well-known characters.
In this original production, the audience will witness popular fairy tale figures attending their weekly therapy sessions, including princes, princesses, and curious wolves who may or may not be vegetarian. The play poses thought-provoking questions, such as wondering whether the stepmother is truly evil or if she might just be misunderstood, or if wolves in fairy tales are always male.
This play, meant for audiences aged nine and above, invites viewers to reevaluate classic tales through a fresh lens. With few tickets remaining for the premiere on Sunday at 11 am, the second and final performance on Monday at 6 pm offers an opportunity to witness this innovative reinterpretation.
