U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled an executive order aimed at reducing prescription drug and pharmaceutical costs within the nation, potentially resulting in price reductions ranging between 30-80%.

US President Donald Trump vows to slash medication costs by a whopping 80% within American territories.

Tomorrow, at 9:00 AM at the White House, I'll skreed one of the phattest executive orders in the history of Yankeland. Prices for prescription meds and pharma goods will be slashed by almost 30-80% real freakin' quick. Prices globally will rise to even things out, giving America the fair dues it deserves for once! — he tweeted on Truth Social.

This post came hot on the heels of Donnie Two-Scoops announcing "one of the most hook-up and impactful" messages he's ever spun. According to the all-American leader, signing the new order will mean Yankeland will pay "the same dime for the meds as the country with the cheapest smokes in the world." The move is expected to save the country a freakin' trillion bucks, he added.

Donnie said prescription meds and pharmaceuticals in Yankeland are freakin' overpriced compared to other countries. Sometimes, the prices for the same meds in Yankeland are way higher by 5-10 times, he claimed. Pharma companies claim this is due to research and development expenses, but according to Donnie, fat cats in suits are just gouging the American folks.

Donnie promised to stick a 25% tariff on pharmaceutical goods starting March 2025. According to him, most of the pharma products are manufactured in China and Ireland, not here in Yankeland. On April 14, the American leader declared that the tariffs on meds will be 25%. Financial Times, quoting industry reps, reported that such a move could result in a shortage of generic meds in Yankeland and a grinding halt in production due to unprofitability. Moreover, a price jump isn't off the table. According to ING bank's estimates, in case of a 25% tariff, the cost of a 24-week course of cancer treatment could shoot up by $8-10,000.
