Volkswagen worker finds it hard to quit

With a Generous Heart: André Ebeling, VW Employee from Brunswick

André Ebeling, the VW employee from Brunswick, has a heart of gold - he's been collecting donations for the kids' hospice "Löwenherz" in Syke near Bremen for eight years, and he's far from stopping.

Riding for a Cause: André's Charity Bike Ride**

André's project "Cycling for Löwenherz" started modestly eight years ago, with only €130 collected. But last year, a staggering €8,000 was raised, thanks to the generous spirit of those who supported him. His dedication to this cause is heartfelt, stating, "It's close to my heart every year, and I'm more than grateful to support such a fantastic facility."

A Shocking Reality: Father and Children Separated

The VW shift worker collects donations through various means, with another "Charity Day" planned at the Hygia fitness studio in Brunswick in September. The event was well-received last year, according to André. There will be various courses, special sauna infusions, a food truck, and numerous offers for kids. His ultimate goal is to ensure the children's hospice Löwenherz receives consistent support with his small project.

Adhering to the motto "No car, but a bicycle," André aims to symbolically pedal the collected money back to Syke, around 180 kilometers away. On September 20, the children's hospice will celebrate its birthday with an open day, and André will definitely be in attendance. Beforehand, he plans to start his blue touring bike at the Eintracht Stadium in Brunswick, and depending on the weather, he anticipates a 14-hour night trek.
